Community-centred, collectively-run bookshop

The Commune describes itself as a radical bookstore, coffee shop and reference library. But it’s so much more than this. The ethos of this not-for-profit space centres around community and its books reflect its collective commitment to revolutionary politics. It calls itself a safe space and by this it means that the organisation actively works at creating and maintaining a space free of racism, sexism, classism, ableism, homophobia, transphobia, xenophobia and other oppressive dynamics. It’s also a peaceful and inspiring space to work or to meet over a coffee, slice of cake or muffin.
